Social Dialogue Ambassadors - Countering Violent Extremism in Kenya through Youth Involvement

23.05.2017 created by Kateryna Pavlova

The closing workshop of our pilot project "Social Dialogue Ambassadors - Countering Violent Extremism in Kenya through Youth Involvement" took place in Nairobi on May 22. The project was organized in partnership with the Africa Peace Forum and with the financial support of the Robert Bosch Stiftung. During the past 6 months multipliers from partner organizations from 6 counties in Kenya were trained in a Simulation Game on countering religious extremism. They held their own workshops in various sub-counties and managed to engage more than 150 youths in heated discussions on how to counter violent extremism. Furthermore, a conflict analysis looking at causes and factors regarding radicalization in Kenya was conducted and published. In networking meetings various actors from the CVE sector met and shared their experience and perspectives on the topic. We thank all the partners who were involved in making this project a fruitful and promising one and are looking forward to continue the journey together with you!
