Youth and Religion in Kyrgyzstan

In the frame of a consultancy for GIZ Kyrgyzstan, a tailor-made simulation game and workshop format was developed and implemented with the aim to discover the interests and needs of young people concerning religion.

Target Group

The target group was young people in 3 regions in Kyrgyzstan. In total, 7 workshops were held, reaching a total number of 163 young people.

Project Goals

The main aim of the consultancy was to find out  the interests and needs of young people concerning religion. During the workshops, participants not only had the chance to learn more about Islam by invited experts, reflect on their own identity and to work on their attitudes towards religious and secular groups, but also made concrete proposals about what and how they would like to learn about Islam. The outcomes of the consultancy will be used to develop communication formats for young people on religion in 2018.
