CRISP delivered a training on complexity management from 1.-3. July to state employees of the German state of Thüringen. Using the simulation game Großbürgerhausen, the participants were introduced to the concept of complex systems. Some took on the role of members of city administrators and civil society actors, while others represented business and citizen interests. All were involved in the process of deciding what to do with an empty space in a city neighborhood.
In the following two days, the participants learned about complexity theory and were introduced to several schools of thought on the topic. They also had the opportunity to learn and practice methods to influence the complex systems in which they work.
