Short Bio

Born and raised in Crimea, Ukraine, Violetta witnessed illegal Russian occupation of the Crimean Peninsula in 2014, which strengthened her interest in politics and peace building. After escaping the occupation, she became a volunteer and a civil activist in Ukraine, working on the protection of individual and group rights in her country, as well as bringing awareness about the Russian aggression in Ukraine and other countries on the local, national, and international levels. Likewise, Violetta is a youth worker who founded an NGO in 2019 to help young Ukrainians become an active part of the civil society, engage in volunteering, and realize the importance of using education, intercultural understanding, and community work to develop Ukraine. This year she became a European Solidarity Corps volunteer at CRISP and is delighted to learn more about political affairs in different regions and gain skills to address social issues in Ukraine and other countries around the world.
